The Ryde Masters Swimming Club has been swimming at the Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre (and the former Ryde Swimmimg Centre) for over 40 years.
The Club is affiliated with Masters Swimming NSW and Masters Swimming Australia. Masters swimming is open to adults over the age of 18 years. Masters Swimming has the motto of Fun, Fitness and Friendship which shows it does not matter how fast you swim, you can be involved in all the training, competiton and social aspects of swimming.
At Ryde, all swimming abilites are welcome. We have training lanes graduated from slower to faster that you can join.
Just in case you are wondering, we don't teach adults how to learn to swim. Unfortunately, we don't have the resources to do that. However, if you are looking to learn to swim, please contact the staff at the Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre. They have qualified instructors that can provide lessons for you. Once you have the basics, then as others have done, you can come along and join the Club to continue your swimming fitness and improvement.
Many of our swimmers swim for fitness but others also compete in masters competitions. Just like you don't have to be a fast swimmer to join the club nor do you have to be a fast swimmer to join in the competition. Competition swim meets are open to all members of all masters clubs all over Australia. This means you can swim in local, state and national competitions. Racing is organised so you swim in heats with others of similar ability. Additonally, swimming in competition can provide you with a personal target goal and motivation for improvement.
The Club is 'not-for-profit' and run voluntarily by the members. So there is opportunity to become involved with the organisation of the Club and events that are undertaken. These events can include the annual swimming meet, several fund-raising events and social gatherings. The fundraising events allow the club to help pay for things like lane hire on training nights. Other events have also included fundraising for charities.
Perhaps you might like to try a swim with us? Then coming along for a trial swim is the best way to do that!. See "Trial Swim" page.
We look forward to seeing you at the pool with us.
The 2026 Club Committee was voted in at our 2025 Annual General Meeting, held after training on the evening of Wednesday 19 November 2025.
Congratulations and thank you to our volunteers who have stepped up to help support and run the club over the next 12 months!
COMMITTEE MEMBERS:
We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
